Sossusvlei Desert Lodge | Luxury Safari in Namibia | Scott Dunn

After extensive redesign and refurbishment, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is a truly luxurious lodge in the heart of the Namib Desert situated in the northern stretches of the NamibRand Nature Reserve.

Ten spacious, air-conditioned, desert suites are encased in glass and stone to dramatic effect each with a spacious indoor and outdoor living space to relax and enjoy the incredible views.  Each suite has been designed with sumptuous luxury at the forefront with no detail spared while the natural tones and hues compliment the surrounding environment.  Each suite boasts its own private veranda with plunge pool as well as indoor and outdoor showers.  On cooler nights guests can unwind in the comfort of their suite each with built in fire place and star gazing skylight over the bed.  Designed to capture the splendour and solitude of the desert, each suite is set along the curve of the escarpment.  For families or friends travelling together the two bedroom Star Dune Suite offers the ultimate privacy.  Two separate suites, each with their own pool, are joined by glass walk ways to a central lounge, dinning area and sunken deck with fire pit.

There is a walk-in wine cellar and dinner is served in a glass-fronted dining room. The main lodge features a long bar, beautiful open lounge area with uninterrupted views of the desert beyond.  Guests can cool off in the swimming pool, or simply relax on the wraparound verandas and take it all in.   The lodge is also renowned for its excellent cuisine with wine-pairing, as well as exciting bush breakfasts and dinners in dramatic desert locations.

The NamibRand spans 180,000 hectares of pristine desert wilderness, and is the largest private nature reserve in southern Africa, the landscape here is vast with endless horizons, jagged mountain peaks and dramatic desertscapes. Explore it all by quad bike, open 4×4 vehicle, on foot or hot-air balloon.
